Our Story
We are an Anglican City Centre Resource Church in the heart of Coventry, seeking to play our part in the evangelisation of the nation, the revitalisation of the church, and the transformation of society.
Our History
In 2017, a church closed for 45 years was brought back to life. Today, it’s home to a growing, vibrant community.
‘From desolation to renovation, from despair to hope, from death to life’.
- RT Rev. Dr. Christopher Cocksworth
Our Vision
Our vision is for St. Marks to be ‘Life in the City’. Based on John 10:10, Our desire is for the people of Coventry and the City to be transformed by the fullness of life found in Jesus, expressed in three ways:
Find Faith
We believe fullness of life is found in Jesus. Our passion is to see people meet Jesus, grow in faith, and play an active part in His mission in our city.
Set Free
We long to see people set free from what holds them back, walking together in community to be formed into who God has called each individual to be.
City Flourish
We love Coventry. We are sent to be a blessing and a resource to the city. Serving its people and bringing transformation wherever we are.
A Resourcing Church
We want to see the church revitalised across Coventry and the Diocese.
Releasing Leaders — Through St. Marks Academy and our leadership pathways, we invest deeply in training both lay leaders and clergy for the wider Diocese.
Church Planting — We are committed to seeing local churches come alive. We love sending out teams and resources to launch new communities or revitalise existing congregations, as we have with St. Peters Hillfields and Risen Christ Wyken.
