As an intern you will be immersed in the culture of St. Marks, a thriving city centre resource church in the heart of Coventry. Our desire is to empower you, the next generation of church and business leaders, through spending a life changing year with us. A year of adventure, exploring who you are and what God is calling you into.

Each intern will have a specific area of ministry they will focus on for the year.
You will be working alongside experienced staff members in each field, gaining hands on experience that will prepare you for the job market.
We will be joining with Gas Street Church’s intern program weekly throughout the year.
If you get to the interview stage we’d love to invite you an open day at St. Mark’s. This is a great chance for you to experience the culture of the church and find out what the year has to offer.
You’ll have the opportunity to join us for morning prayer & worship, meet the staff and current interns for a Q&A as well as a tour of the church and offices.
In the Kids Stream you will be taking a lead in helping children encounter God and develop a faith of their own from ages 2-11.
St. Mark’s Kids is build around values of, encountering God, having loads of fun, building foundations of identity and helping kids to flourish.
Working with our Kids Pastor you will gain practical experience planning and leading sessions, putting on events for families, organising and coordinating teams, developing your teaching skills, learning how to prepare curriculum and resources and more.
Our hope is that by the end of the year, you will be fully equipped and skilled to lead a children’s ministry in a local church or gain employment in the education sector.
Operations makes everything we do as church possible! For the church to flourish we need healthy systems that help people reach their fullest potential.
In the Operations Stream you will be working alongside our Operations Director to empower ministries and people. The internship will be varied and multifaceted helping the church fulfil it’s broader mission to see people find faith, be set free, and for the city to flourish.
You will gain hands on experience coordinating volunteers, managing systems and facilities, organising and putting on events, starting new initiatives, working with outside agencies and more.
Our hope is that by the end of the year, you will have grown in your people skills, organisational and management skills which will equip you for employment in as a church administrator or business manager.
We long for St. Mark’s to be know as a place where creativity flourishes, a beautiful bride that is a beacon for the church and the city. St. Mark’s has a fledgling creative community of photographers, graphic designers, social media & website designers.
In the Creative Stream you will be taking a lead in telling the story of St. Mark’s and reaching people with message of Jesus through creative media.
You will have a key role taking leading the creative team. Depending on your areas of skill the internship could have different emphasis but in a general sense you will gain experience coordinating creatives for Sunday services, leading creative projects taking them from concept to fruition, growing and developing a brand, communicating vision, developing skills in new areas and more.
Our hope is that by the end of the year, you will have grown in your creative skill as well as in vital organisation and management skills which will equip you for employment in your creative field.
St. Mark’s places a high value on worship, encountering God is one of our core values as a church and one of the main ways this is expressed is through worship. We have a thriving team of musicians who are passionate about leading people into God’s presence, where lives are changed and anything is possible.
In the Worship stream you will gain practical, hands-on training and learn how to lead a worship team and a church congregation in worship.
Throughout the year you will be involved in the process of organising teams, leading groups, songwriting, putting set-lists together, running auditions, learning production skills and more.
You will be part of Worship Central Academy throughout the year.
Our hope is that by the end of of the year, you would be fully equipped & confident to take on a role as a Worship Pastor of a local church.
Encountering God is one of our core values as a church and one of the main ways this is expressed is through worship. Worship & Production are one family at St. Mark’s and our production team are worship leaders as much as anyone on the platform as they craft light and sound to lead people into an encounter with God.
In the Production stream you will gain practical, hands-on training and learn how to lead a production team and run Sunday services and special events. Throughout the year you will be involved in the process of organising teams, training volunteers, stage design, writing up equipment proposals, music production and more.
You will also have a work placement with Noiseboys Technologies as part of your year.
Our hope is that by the end of of the year, you would be fully equipped & confident to be a Production Manager of a local church/theatre/production company.
Coventry is a thriving student city with Warwick University & Coventry University playing major roles in developing the city.
There are over 50,000 students from 140 countries studying in the city which present a massive opportunity for mission.
In the Students stream you will work as part of a team seeking to serve students and reach them with the message of Jesus. The dream is to give every student an opportunity to encounter Jesus during their time at university.
You have a key role bringing energy and ideas to the team. You will gain experience organising events, creating missional opportunities, mentoring students, investing in student leaders, building bridges with Universities and more.
Our hope is that by the end of the year, you would be fully equipped & confident to take on a role as a Student Pastor of a local church.
St. Mark’s Youth serves young people in school years 7-13, Our vision is to see young people find faith in Jesus, be set free to become all they are created to be, and to be involved in seeing our city flourish.
In the Youth stream you will work as part of a team seeking to serve young people in church and reach youth in the city with the message of Jesus.
You have a key role bringing energy and ideas to the team. You will gain experience organising events, creating missional opportunities, mentoring young people, building bridges with nearby schools and colleges and more.
Our hope is that by the end of the year, you would be fully equipped & confident to take on a role as a Youth worker in a local church.
